The painter Claude Monet, who was a leading exponent of Impressionism, was fascinated by the transitory effects of natural light and devoted his life to capturing its beauty on canvas.
This exhibition meticulously traces the development of Monet’s artistic career by highlighting key places and periods that were important stages of his creative journey, including Le Havre, Argenteuil, Vétheuil, and Giverny. Moreover, by presenting examples from a wide variety of different genres of visual expression, including contemporary paintings, photographs, Japanese ukiyo-e prints and Art Nouveau craft works, the exhibition seeks to shed new light on Monet’s creative activities. We sincerely hope you will enjoy this unprecedented Monet exhibition.
